After being involved in Give An Hour and the Wounded Warrior Project as a civilian therapist, I have become concerned about the warriors who have come back from deployment and haven’t received much help in readjusting to civilian life. As I participated in the Wounded Warrior Project I heard a lot about their overseas and back home experiences, and saw the severity of their need for connecting with other soldiers, for help in dealing with the pain in their souls, and with connecting back into their families. These men and women need to be heard and listened to. They need someone who can help them bridge the gap between their military experiences and to life now as a civilian. Their families also need help knowing how to deal with the changes. During the retreats with the warriors I have been well accepted as a counselor, though I am not a military man. As a result of this exposure to the warriors and their responsiveness to me, I want to provide veterans in Michigan and their families counseling at no cost to them. I am providing counseling through my ministry called Warriors Hope - winning the battle after the war. I have heard about your Christian ministry . Since I believe that real healing comes from Jesus Christ and my counseling is biblical counseling, I am interested in learning about your ministry and wondered if I could participate and observe one of your events.
